I Want to Volunteer Print

We encourage all those of good will with an interest in improving the lives of youth to see how they can participate in our Scout Programs.

There are many different ways to volunteer.

Helping at the National Level

You can help in our national office, with everything a national nonprofit needs.  We welcome the assistance of business professionals such as webmasters, development experts, publishers, managers, editors, and attorneys who can donate time.  We are also looking for interns.  Interns receive course credit and possibly a small stipend.

Our national office is in Los Angeles, but you don’t have to be here to assist us.  Much of your help can come over the internet and telephone.

Helping at the Local Level

There are lots of ways you can get involved or assist the Scout Programs of Adventure Scouts USA and have a positive impact in your community.

A great way to spread the word is to let your family, friends, neighbors, parents of children your child goes to school with, or anyone you think might be interested in joining know about us.

If you would like, you can also speak with community leaders and spread the word to churches, temples, schools, parent/teacher groups and community or service organizations.

Below is a basic script:

"Adventure Scouts USA is the only fully nondiscriminatory Scout Program in the United States.   Our Scout Programs are co-ed and our Scouts choose, organize and lead their meetings, programs and activities, so they can do what is FUN for them."

There are many other ways to communicate if you would like to do more than speaking to others or if you would prefer not to speak with others.

Another great way we find people who are interested in joining is by hanging fliers in places where families will see them.  Parks, family restaurants and children's sporting events are good places to start.  We also should know about any bulletin boards or anywhere in your community where information about community groups is posted.

Click here for a printable version of the flier.

If you have a blog or online journal, you can let others know about us by posting information.

Below is basic information to have before posting:
• We are about FUN and adventure,
• We are the only fully nondiscriminatory Scout Program in the United States,
• Our Scout Programs are coed,
• Our Scouts choose, organize and lead their meetings, programs and activities
• Our Scouts do it all from basketball to backpacking, snowboarding to stamp collecting!

If you’re not sure about something or you don’t understand something, please give us a call before posting it so we clarify it for you.  We’re here until 10pm EST.

When there is a team in your community, you can assist on a continuing basis as a Team Counselor.  Our volunteers discover new talents and develop new friendships and contacts.

Perhaps you have a skill or have a hobby you can share with our Scouts and Members.

Maybe you have an interest or ability in camping and you can assist our Scouts with during one of our camping trips.

There are many ways to help and if you have an idea or suggestion of your own, just give us a call!  We will immediately review and approve your suggestion.
