One of the services to the greater community our Scouts provide is to serve as pen pals to active duty soldiers. Our Scouts are assigned a pen pal through a professional service which matches up pen pals with soldiers who have requested pen pals.  Â
Our Scouts send letters to us via email and we send them on to the soldiers. When and if the soldiers write back (Scouts should understand active duty soldiers are very busy people in a very dangerous area and may not have much free time to write), they send their letters to us and we send them out to our Scouts.
Our Scouts who take on this responsibility should remember that they should write every week to 10 days, whether they get a response or not.Â
We want soldiers to know we are all hoping the best for them and our Scouts want to show their support. No soldier should have to walk away from the mailbox empty handed. That is why our Scouts take part in our Military Pen pal Program.
