We know our Scouts have many varying interests and one of the ways in which we encourage those interests is to enable our Scouts to meet in small groups of Scouts which share the same interest.Â
Scouts on various teams in one area who share the same interest meet once per month. Topics of interest could include skateboarding, Anime, music, soccer, and much more; the possibilities are endless.
These meetings are open to the public and youth who are not Scouts are free to participate.Â
Counselors are always on hand to ensure health and safety. At least two Counselors are always on hand. However, all Counselors who are interested in the subject matter are also encouraged to come, both to learn more about their topic of interest, and to assist the other Counselors should many youth from the community show up.
We encourage Scouts to invite local experts in the field to come speak to them and hold hands-on, learning-by doing, sessions on the topic, such as a local skateboarding expert, artist, etc.
