GATEWAY -- Balanced

  Requirement
1  The Scout has satisfied the administrative requirements for membership.
2  The Scout recited the North Star Scout Promise, the Scout Code, Scout Motto, and the Scout Spirit, and explained their meaning in personal terms.
3  The Scout has completed the New Member Orientation Process including:
  a. The history of Adventure Scouts USA and of the Scout Movement.
  b. The obligation of every Scout and Counselor to live by the spirit of the Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto, and Scout Spirit of Adventure Scouts USA and to treat all others respectfully.
  c. The obligation of every Scout and Counselor to report misconduct or perceived misconduct on the part of any person associated with Adventure Scouts USA.
  d. That it is the affirmative duty of every Scout and Counselor to observe sound safety practices and that is bullying, hazing, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
  e. The Scout must always be in the presence of at least another Scout or two Adults during all meetings, programs, and activities of the Scout Programs of Adventure Scouts USA.
4  The Scout has met with the Team Leader and Counselor in Conference.
5  The Scout has met with their Scout Buddy.
6  The Scout complete the orientation regarding  participation in The Personal Achievement Program or the Pursue Your Passions Program.
7  The Scout has completed the orientation regarding Challenges including discussion of four essential concerns.  They are:
  a. What a Challenge is and how to schedule a Challenge by making an appointment.
  b. How to complete a Challenge (what is expected, Give Your Best)
  c. Orientation of Expectations for Did and Do
  d. Personal safety while completing a Challenge
8  The Scout has made a choice from one of the five Paths in the Personal Achievement Program.
9  The Scout has completed a Challenge of personal interest from the tentative Path list
 

AIM HIGH -- Balanced

  Requirement
1  The Scout has earned the Gateway award.
2  The Scout has recited from memory the Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto, and Scout Spirit in accordance with published guidelines.
3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of, according to published guidelines.
4  Scout has completed at least 2 Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least one Challenge from the SELF EXPRESSION: Personal Education or Recreation lists.
6  The Scout has completed ten of the requirements for BASE: OLS-1
7  The Scout has completed at least two Challenges from the SOCIETY & FAMILY: Safety list.
8  The Scout has completed at least one Challenge from the SCIENCE & NATURE: Nature & Architecture list that does not also appear in the requirements for OLS-1.
9  The Scout has completed at least one of the Challenges from the SPORTS: Health, Fitness and Sports list.
10  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from SPORTS category.
  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from SCIENCE & NATURE category.
  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from SOCIETY & FAMILY category.
11  The Challenge Mentor and Scout Buddy counseled the Scout regarding Scout's choice of Path.
12  The Scout confirms choice of BALANCED as his or her Path, or selects one of the other categories as Path.
13  The Scout has participated in planning or organizing an activity, event or service project.
14  The Scout has completed a Challenge that demonstrates Trustworthiness, a pillar of Character Counts!
 

COMPASS -- Balanced

  Requirement
1  The Scout has earned the Aim High award.
2  The Scout's conduct conforms to the Spirit Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto and Scout Spirit of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of.
3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  Scout has completed at least 5 new Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least 1 Challenge from the BASE: Scout Spirit list.
6  Scout has completed at least one Challenge from the SOCIETY & FAMILY: Recreation, Recreation or Vocations lists.
7  Scout has completed at least 5 Challenges from SOCIETY & FAMILY: Safety lists, including at least three relating to First Aid but excluding any that appear in the requirements for OLS, as follows:
8  The Scout has completed the requirements for BASE: OLS-1.
9  The Scout has completed one new Outdoor Skills Challenge from the SCIENCE & NATURE category.
10  The Scout has completed at least 5 new Challenges from the SCIENCE & NATURE: Nature list that do not appear in the requirements for OLS.
11  The Scout has completed at least 5 new Challenges from the SPORTS: Health, Fitness and Sports list including at least two relating to physical fitness.
12  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from the SPORTS category.
13  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from the SCIENCE & NATURE category.
14  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from the SOCIETY & FAMILY category
15  The Scout has completed at least 1 new Challenge from the SELF EXPRESSION category.
16  The Scout confirms choice of BALANCED as his or her continuing Path, or selects one of the other categories as Path.
17  The Scout has completed training in the planning phase of the POLE Method.
18  The Scout has planned an approved activity, event or service project to the satisfaction of the Team Leader.
19  The Scout has completed a Challenge that demonstrates Respect, a pillar of Character Counts!
 

NAVIGATOR -- Balanced

  Requirement
1  The Scout has earned the Compass award.
2  The Scout's conduct conforms to the Spirit Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto and Scout Spirit of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of.
3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  Scout has completed at least five new Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least 2 new Challenges from the BASE: Scout Spirit list.
6  Scout has completed at least five Challenges from the SCIENCE & NATURE: Vocational list or SELF EXPRESSION: Personal Education or Recreation lists.
7  Scout has completed at least 5 Challenges from SOCIETY & FAMILY: Safety lists, including at least three relating to First Aid but excluding any that appear in the requirements for OLS-1 or -2.
8  The Scout has completed the requirements for BASE: OLS-2
9  The Scout has completed two new Outdoor Skills Challenge from any category.
10  The Scout has completed at least five new Challenges from the SCIENCE & NATURE: Nature & Architecture list.
11  The Scout has completed at least five new Challenges from the SPORTS: Health, Fitness and Sports list, with at least two relating to physical fitness.

  Requirement
1  The Scout has earned the Navigator award.
2  The Scout's conduct conforms to the Spirit Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto and Scout Spirit of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of.
3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  Scout has completed at least 10 new Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least 4 new Challenges from the BASE: Scout Spirit list.
6  Scout has completed at least 10 Challenges from the Personal Education, Vocational, or Recreation lists from any categories.
7  Scout has completed at least 10 Challenges from SOCIETY & FAMILY: Safety lists, including at least three relating to First Aid but excluding any that appear in the requirements for OLS-1 or -2.
8  The Scout has completed the requirements for OLS-3.
9  The Scout has completed three new Outdoor Skills Challenge from any categories.
10  The Scout has completed at least ten new Challenges from the SCIENCE & NATURE: Nature & Architecture list that do not appear in the requirements for OLS-1, -2, or -3.

1  The Scout has earned the Trail Blazer award.
2  The Scout's conduct conforms to the Spirit Scout Promise, Scout Code, Scout Motto and Scout Spirit of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of.
3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  Scout has completed at least 10 new Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least 4 new Challenges from the BASE: Scout Spirit list.
6  Scout has completed at least 10 Challenges from the Personal Education, Vocational, or Recreation lists from any categories.
7  Scout has completed at least 10 Challenges from SOCIETY & FAMILY: Safety lists, including at least three relating to First Aid but excluding any that appear in the requirements for OLS-1 or -2.

3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  Scout has completed at least 10 new Challenges from the BASE: Community, Social Responsibility and Citizenship list.
5  Scout has completed at least 4 new Challenges from the BASE: Scout Spirit list.

3  The Scout wears the Uniform of the Scout Program of Adventure Scouts USA they are a member of in accordance with written guidelines and helps others to do so.
4  The Scout has completed eight new Outdoor Skills challenge from the SCIENCE & NATURE category.
5  The Scout has completed eight new Outdoor Skills from the SOCIETY & FAMILY category.
6  The Scout has completed at least eight new Challenges from the SELF EXPRESSION category.
7  The Scout has completed at least eight new Challenges from the SPORTS category.
8  The Scout has submitted a prospectus for the Challenger Project and the Challenger Committee has approved it.
9  The Scout has submitted a final plan for the Challenger Project and the Challenger Committee has approved it.
10  The Scout has organized the Challenger Project to the satisfaction of the Challenger Committee.
11  The Scout has led the Challenger Project to the satisfaction of the Challenger Committee.
12  The Scout has submitted a self-evaluation of the Challenger Project.
13  The Challenger Committee has determined that the Scout completed the Challenger Project according to the guidelines.
14  The National Committee for the Challenger Award has determined that the Scout has met the requirements for the Challenger Award and authorized the award.
